Forum Plans
Just wondering when all the things spoke of are going to happen with the forums? not just talk but an actual plan. Activity seems to keep dropping and the enthusiasm from....well i would call it new ownership and staff but I think we can't call it that now as its been so long since the reigns have changed hands.
Last we heard Dan was making the new skin, that was months and months ago. There was also some promotion ideas threw into the mix as well, where does talkfreelance stand?

The plans I've talked about before are still a go. When? This year.
Dan has produced a design, but I wanted an alternative, so Chris Rowe is finishing another version. I cannot give an ETA.

I think talkfreelance already reached its peak to be honest.

It certainly reached a peak. As for whether it will ever surpass that point, never say never.
As Artashes mentioned, the plans are still the same and they are being worked on, albeit slowly, in the background.

Slowly is an understatement, Its been over a year since ownership has changed and there has been alot of talk but there has been absolutely no change. Activity has declined and it seems the ship is sinking, there seems to be no urgency from the owner to put some life into the site.
There is hardly any technical talk anymore, it is all general discussion. Its sad to log in and only see posts about who smokes weed, rate a song, what to have for lunch ect.
You have got to understand where I am coming from Artashes, you cant sit on the site a year without doing anything and expecting your staff and members to bring life back into the site.
Your members were excited when you took ownership but a year with nothing to offer your members excitement has turned into dissapointment and the outlook does not look good.

^I'm guilty of the "rate the song above you" thread haha. A new skin isn't going to make a dramatic difference or anything.
I've seen some changes since artashes took over. The whole post reward thing is new is new. Some forums have been merged.. Eh I guess thats about it? He's a lot more active then big zee was.
What can the man really do? All the important members here left over a year ago. The place used to be filled with people buying/selling templates and actually running websites.
I feel like everyone thinks the site is going to turn around because of a skin, when really its not gonna make much a difference.

A number of members are still here who I would consider important, most of them are currently staff but not all. Quite a few, if not almost all, have left though.
Part of the problem is that internet freelancing at its best is a crap game. It's a good place for people just starting but a bad place for skilled people looking to make real money. Everyone who goes on a web looking for someone is looking for a bargain.

I'll just say it.
- Merge all forums and filter through tags.
- Separate marketplace entirely.
- Restructure index to highlight and showcase quality discussion.
- Ban anyone who posts like a turd.
- Get real syntax highlighting.
