Now is probably a good time for myself, and others with low votes to drop out and have a "final" selection process.
That way, votes can be used on cutting down the averagely voted 6-7 to 4-5.

I can honestly say there is a few I'd hope not to see as staff that's for sure.

Why do I think people are making multiple accounts and voting for themselves

To be honest I actually think this process could have been a little different.
However, its been done, but one thing I will say - please can we try and have a few staff members from different time zones - that way admin/moderation procedures can be evenly spread out.
I can honestly say there is a few I'd hope not to see as staff that's for sure.

Sadly I feel the same, but thats the whole point of a public vote - the communities opinion is the important thing rather than individuals.

To be honest this crossed my mind - I'm sure the admin's will be able to quickly check who has voted on the poll and when the account was created.

Thanks to all that had voted for me. In regards to users doing multiple accounts or whatever, from what I heard, registration was turned off? And like I said earlier in the thread, I didn't even vote for myself LOL! I gave my vote to Village for admin spot. haha

Hehe gonna be funny to get different time zones, most ppl here are from USA and some from West Europe. Very often when i enter forum is so clean and calm .
Imo guys that will choose new administration should check logs about voting accounts like getrefreshed said. Would say that such account should be disqualified but you gonna burn me XD.
EDIT:
True, registration is closed.

If anyone does have any specific reasons why they think one or more of the nominations should not be allowed on the staff, do feel free to make me aware of those reasons (via PM). Just because that person has x amount of friendsmembers to vote for them doesn't mean they'll automatically be a good staff member.
As for gaming the poll, as mentioned above registration has been closed since last weekend so creating new accounts to vote with is not possible after that time and we all know that having multiple accounts is against the rules anyway, right?
Getting staff from varying timezones will be an important factor, both of the current admins (and the only staff members right now) are in England so it really would be beneficial to get at least one person to cover the hours when we are never around. That will be a factor, among the many, influencing our decisions.
The poll closes on Friday morning (varying depending where you are, obviously) so Zee and I will be discussing the results over the weekend if all goes to plan.

I don't know who you're all against being on staff, but yeah, it's taking the community to elect and see who becomes whatever. But from what Salathe said above there, it kinda sounds like it doesn't matter who has the higher votes anyway.
The people that others/elders like the most, or favor most, will get it regardless. Even if they're never really around anyway, and wouldn't really be good candidate for moderator status. I thought the reason for the poll, is for everyone to vote on WHO they WANT, and the highest voted folks will have a chance for job spot? Guess I was wrong... and then they should have just gave their "buddies" the jobs without a community vote... LOL! (Or maybe I'm reading into things too much, I don't know.) I thought maybe, Village for admin. Gary, Chris and I for moderator? Would add a good variety of flavor to the staff panel. But I dunno...
Regarding the time zones, I'm on the East Coast USA. I'm usually on here through the night, from like midnight to early morning. Even through the day times as well... Heck, I'm usually always here LOL!

Spencer, I think you've gotten hold of completely the wrong end of the stick: votes dictate who we'll be considering for staff. It's not a popularity contest (either between members and nominees, or current staff and nominees). We'll be considering the top voted people (it's pretty clear who those are) and what they can bring to the staff team.
Thanks for the notes about when you're online.
