I have moved away from intense programming in the passed few months to do freelance work for small businesses. When the point came that I was finally doing some programming that actually requires more than 3rd grade math, I found that I couldn't write more than a dozen lines of code without looking something up, or posting something on stack overflow. Did anyone else ever experience this? Should it "come back to me" over time? I am sort of freaking out.
Programming takes time, remember that "experience" time is often seen in years of full time work, that is ~2,000 hours a year. If you had just been programming for a few months what you're experiencing is pretty normal.
i think you misunderstood me. I have been programming since i was 11 years old, and once i took a break for a few months, i forgot some of the more advanced programming concepts.
