Jacky! New girl on the block
Hey all,
This is Jacky, I am a new webmaster here.
I have often had to hire people off odesk etc so thought it would be good for me to join this site.
Currently I am working on http://www.tocachat.com which is my new project. Nice to meet you all!
If you have any tips for my site then please let me know.

Welcome to the site, Jacky! I hope you enjoy the community.
What is tocachat.com and what is your long-term objective with it?

hey sorry it took so long to write back.
My objective is to turn it onto a massive chat board where you can talk about any topic.
I recently did a new design so review it and give me some suggestions if you have the time.

The design is rather empty, to be honest... Too much white-space, a rather poor presentation, and not really anything to catch my attention. I looked at the site a few days ago and closed it within 1 second. I only opened it back up today to have a fresh look and give you a review after hearing the idea behind it...
Unfortunately though, this has kind-of already been done before... It reminds a lot of Quora.com
TocaChat doesn't seem very intuitive, and there isn't anything telling you what the site is. Go to Facebook, and it tells you "Facebook helps you connect and share with the people in your life." Go to Quora, and it say "Quora connects you to everything you want to know about." While both are rather bland statements, they give you some perspective.
Also, how do you find topics you're interested in? Simply by the tags alone? The inconsistency on the tags gives off a less-than-professional feel. Perhaps converting them to Capital Casing (Like This) or all Lower Case (like this) would help?
You're plain-text logo leaves one thinking it's a 5min site thrown together. While your page title says Toca Chat, you're logo says TOCACHAT. While I don't know what either one means, Toca Chat is easier to read and gives you some-what of an idea that it's a community driven site...
Please don't take any of this personal, I'm not trying to be rude or disrespectful. You asked for a review and suggestions so this is my critical critique. I'll give you props though on having as many posts as you do. I'd never be able to populate a site like that in less than 7 months...

Hi jacky87,
Well I'm with zara, a bit dull for my taste. Try adding a few colors, as an accent or background.
